Daily Practice

Clarity is not a conversion. It can be but in general it’s a process that goes on daily. Sometimes it is an hour by hour process. Sometimes it is a minute to minute process.

It is similar to what happens when a hot shower is running in your bathroom. The mirrors fog up and you have to continually clean them if you want to see clearly to shave or put on makeup.

Clarity hides behind the fog. We strive to keep our purpose clear and our vision sharp but we have to keep reminding our self. Why is that? Because we fill up our day with ToDo’s that aren’t moving us towards our goals and act to ‘fog’ up our mind.

We try to do a lot during our day forgetting to ask how it moves us towards our purpose.

When I discussed this with my friend Nancy she said, “Oh, its like daily exercise!” (http://fieldsgraphicdesign.com/)

And it is. Every day, sometimes every hour you check in. How do you do it? Try these simple questions. 1) What am I doing right now and how is it moving me towards my desired outcome? 2) What step or action can I take right now to move closer to my desired outcome? 3) Why will this action move me closer to my desired outcome?

Try these on an as needed basis. Sometimes once a day works. Sometimes you’ll have to ask these once every 10 minutes. Let me know how your focus and energy change. How do I know when to ask the questions? When you are tired, discouraged and finding no energy with the task you are doing, that’s when you stop and ask the questions.
