Do you ever find the world full of wonder? When I was five I remember standing on our porch looking up at the sky. The sun was setting behind the house and the stars were coming out …seemingly one at a time. I stepped down off the porch and walked around to the side of the house as the sky darkened and more and more stars started to appear.
I can only describe the feeling I had at that moment as a state of awe and wonder. It wasn’t figuring things out or thinking about things. It was pure amazement at what I was experiencing. We adults don’t have those feelings so much. I wonder why we don’t?
Update on projects. Did a significant piece of writing today. Worked on a problem in project 2.
I loved the stars when I was kid. I felt like I could accomplish anything and felt so comforted by them. When i had my daughter and she was old enough to have her own bunk bed we went out to the science store and a couple hundred differnt kinds of glow-in-the-dark stars of different sizes. We spent the day sticking them all over the ceiling and down the walls a bit . About 30 minutes before bed my daughter would run up stairs and tun the light on. Then after her story, lights out and look up at the stars and talk about the future. it was really neat because the stars would glow at differnt lumens and it was like looking outside.
